SUMMER CAMPS WILL BEGIN JUNE 1
The challenges of COVID-19 have impacted our world tremendously but know that the health and safety of our campers, staff, and families remain our highest priority. After weeks consulting with local medical professionals and reviewing guidelines from the Center for Disease Control, American Camp Association, and the Open Texas Taskforce, we have updated our policies related to disinfecting, group size, and health and safety measures. With these additional steps in place, we feel we will be able to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and provide children a healthy and fun summer of camp. We have made many changes including reducing locations, smaller group sizes, and adjusting our classroom spaces to maximize social distancing. Our COVID-19 Summer Camp Policy & Procedure Manual provides detailed information on our updated processes. Please review the information on this page in its entirety to determine if Snapology Austin will meet the needs of your family at this time. As always, you may contact us with any questions.
Camps will only be offered at the Snapology Austin Discovery Center to ensure that we’re able to provide the highest level of care for your children.
Group sizes for June will be reduced to 10 kids per class. We will revisit group sizes based on the guidelines from the CDC and Open Texas Taskforce requirements. As with previous years, groups will be divided by age. If you are signing up with a friend please add a note in the comments to ensure kids are grouped together.
Each group will remain consistent throughout their week at camp. Campers will be reminded to social distance as much as feasible. Campers will work individually with an assigned LEGO kit and computer for all structured building activities.
Our instructors will be required to wear face masks, however, masks for campers will be optional. Please send a mask from from home with your child if you’d like them to wear one.
Each of our LEGO bricks have been sanitized with a disinfectant prior to camp. All LEGO bricks and toys will be rotated out and/or sanitized daily. At the end of the week, all loose LEGO bricks and robotics kits will be transported to our storage facility for thorough sanitation and new LEGO kits and bags will be brought in for each new group.
We will sanitize all outdoor equipment, tables, toys, hard surfaces, and bathrooms in between uses and at the end of each day. No more than one groups will be in any common space at a time.
Drop-off and pick up will be contactless. We ask that no adult get out of their vehicle and approach our playground area or building. Upon arrival please join the queue for drop-off. A Snapology staff member will approach your vehicle from the passenger side to do a quick health screening and take your child’s temperature. We will provide your child with a plastic bag to put their belongings in and escort them into the building. At pick up we ask that each family download the Remind app and subscribe to the classroom code provided in your intro email. We will use the Remind app to communicate at pick up. We ask that you text us your child’s name and the make & model of your vehicle and our staff will escort your child to your car. We appreciate your patience as we work through this new process.
Please send your camper with a nut free lunch, 2 nut free snacks, and a refillable (non-glass) water bottle. We prefer that you send disposable packaging and flatware to limit surface contact. We will provide a disposable plastic bag for your child’s items at drop off – backpacks, bags, electronics, and toys can stay at home.
Each camp will receive a link to a Google photo album where instructors will upload photos and videos daily. Children without a photo/video release will not be included. Adults will not be allowed in our facility.
