Junior FIRST® LEGO® League (Jr.FLL®) is a hands-on program designed to capture young children’s curiosity and direct it toward discovering how science and technology impact the world around them. This program features a real-world challenge, to be explored through research, critical thinking and imagination. Guided by adult coaches and the Core Values, team members work with LEGO elements and motorized parts to build ideas and concepts and present them for review.
Our Jr.FLL® teams will meet at Congregation Beth Israel on Mondays from 5:30 – 7:00 PM beginning on Monday, September 28. There is a Jr.FLL® expo scheduled on 11/14. While participation is optional, the expo gives the children the oportunity to present their models and Show Me boards to other teams and the Volunteer Reviewers.
Jr.FLL® asks that everyone associated with every team understand and honor these Core Values.
- We are a team.
- We do the work. Our coaches and mentors help us learn, but we find the answers ourselves.
- We share our experiences and discoveries with others.
- We are helpful, kind, and show respect when we work, play, and share. We call this Gracious Professionalism®.
- We are all winners.
- We have fun.
Gracious professionalism. Amazing, huh?
